Setlists

Setlists organize your songs for a specific gig or rehearsal.

Creating a Setlist

1. Go to the Setlists tab
2. Tap New Setlist
3. Enter a name (e.g., “Saturday Night Gig”)
4. Optionally link it to a calendar event (gig or rehearsal)

The Setlist Editor

Editing happens on a dedicated /setlist/:id/edit page — open any setlist and tap Edit to enter the editor. Tapping New Setlist drops you straight into the editor with an empty list.

Named Sections

Songs are visually nested inside named sections (e.g., “Set 1”, “Acoustic Break”, “Encore”). Sections render as visual containers with their own running duration, so you can balance each set independently.

• Add a section from the + Section button — or create an empty placeholder section before adding songs, so you can pre-structure the setlist
• Move a song into a section by dragging it onto the section header; the drop lands inside the correct run of songs
• Section markers from older setlists are converted automatically

Adding Songs

The Add Song picker is a two-pane browser — a sorted song list on the left, a detail preview on the right.

• Smart sort — Songs bucket by what you actually play, with recent, most-played, and alphabetical sort options. Counts come from your synced performance history
• Search — Filter by title, artist, key, tempo, lyrics, notes, or tags
• Song groups — Insert reusable templates (like “80s Medley”) in one tap
• + New Group — Create a new song group from inside the editor without leaving the setlist

Multi-Select & Bulk Move

Tap to select multiple songs at once, then move them as a block — useful when rearranging sets or splitting a long opener into two sections.

Save as Group Template

Already arranged a perfect medley inside this setlist? Select the songs and Save as Group Template turns them into a reusable song group you can drop into future setlists.

AI Setlist Generation

Generate setlists from a text prompt:

• Generate from prompt — Describe what you want (“45-minute high-energy rock set”) and AI picks songs from your library

Features

Duration Tracking

See the total setlist duration in real-time as you add and remove songs. Each section shows its own duration too, so you can balance your sets.

Soundman View / Front-of-House Share

Tap Share in the setlist toolbar to get a public read-only link for your sound engineer. It opens a no-login Front-of-House page showing the song order, per-song PA notes, and — if your band has one — a link to the Rider Pack. They follow along during the gig without an account. Rotate the link any time from the share dialog to revoke the old one.

Shared in a chat or email, the link previews with the band, the setlist or its linked gig, the song count, and the date — so the message shows which show it is instead of a generic card.

Shareable Deep-Links

Send a setlist link to a bandmate and it opens straight to that setlist — switching them into the right band automatically if they belong to more than one.

Calendar Integration

Link setlists to gigs or rehearsals in your calendar. When you open an upcoming event, the linked setlist is one tap away.

Song Groups

Reusable song templates for sequences you play together regularly. Create a group (e.g., “90s Medley”), add songs in order, then insert the whole group into any setlist with one tap.

Performance Mode

During a gig:

• Swipe through songs on touch devices
• Arrow keys for keyboard navigation
• The current song is highlighted with chord sheet, lyrics, or MIDI automation visible
• MIDI program changes are sent automatically when you advance
• Song steps let you navigate within songs (verse → chorus → bridge)
• TTS song announcements can read out the next song title through your earpiece

Note

Navigate hands-free with a foot pedal. A Bluetooth page-turner pedal works out of the box — arrows, page up/down, space, and enter all move through the set. A MIDI foot controller works too: map it in Settings > Devices > Controls.

Preflight

Before walking on stage, run Preflight from the setlist’s ⋮ menu — it verifies every backing track, MIDI clip, and stem the set needs is cached on the device and that your audio outputs are routed to devices that are actually connected, with a one-tap Download All for anything missing.

Medley Mode

For sets where songs run into each other with no gap, turn on Medley Mode in the setlist details dialog. The click track and MIDI clock keep running across the song boundary instead of stopping, and the last step of one song auto-advances straight into the next. The perform header shows a Medley pill while it is active.

A single section can override the setlist default — use the three-way toggle in the section header menu to force a contiguous run on (medley) or off (stop), regardless of the setlist setting. Boundaries between different sections always use the setlist default.

Note

Medley Mode keeps the click and clock continuous. A true song-level backing-track crossfade at the boundary is on the roadmap — within a single multitrack recording, stems already advance gaplessly.

Follow Leader

During performance, one band member can act as the leader and broadcast their song and step navigation to all followers in real-time. When you start following, your screen jumps to the leader’s current song and step, and it follows along on every move the leader makes.

This is useful when the band leader calls out the next song and everyone needs to be on the same page instantly, or when the setlist changes mid-gig.

Starting a Session

1. Open a setlist in performance mode
2. Tap the Presence icon in the setlist header
3. Choose Lead — your device starts broadcasting
4. Band members who open the same modal and tap Follow will sync to your position

Connecting as a Follower

Followers can connect by:

• QR code — Scan the QR code displayed in the leader’s modal to connect instantly
• Band member list — Select the leader from the list of online band members

What Syncs

• Current song in the setlist
• Current step within the song

Followers’ screens update automatically when the leader advances. Personal settings (transpose, MIDI devices, theme) are not affected.

Followers aren’t locked to the leader: navigate to another song on your own and your screen stays there until the leader next moves — handy for glancing at a different chart mid-set. To snap back to the leader right away, tap Following and then Follow again in the presence modal.

Note

Follow Leader works over your local network — no internet required. Any device that can host a session (the desktop app, or the iOS/iPadOS and Android apps) can lead; followers connect over Wi-Fi, or peer-to-peer with no router at all. Web browsers cannot join a session — they block local network connections from secure pages — so following needs the desktop or mobile app too.

Deleting Setlists

Deleting a setlist moves it to the Bin, where it can be restored within 30 days. After 30 days, it is automatically purged. Restore or permanently delete from Settings > Bin.

Printing Setlists

Print your setlist for backup or to share with band members who prefer paper:

3. A printer-friendly view opens
