Band Collaboration
Gigmeister is built for bands. Everyone in your band shares the same song library and setlists.
Real-time Sync
Section titled “Real-time Sync”Changes sync instantly across all devices. When one member adds a song or edits a setlist, everyone sees it immediately.
No need to manually sync or refresh — updates appear automatically.
Band Chat
Section titled “Band Chat”Every band has a built-in chat for talking with bandmates without leaving the app — see Band Chat for the full guide. Six default channels (General, Announcements, Bookings, Core, Musicians, Production) are pre-scoped to the relevant band roles; you can add your own channels typed as general, gig, or setlist.
Shared vs Personal

Section titled “Shared with Band”These items are visible to all band members:
- Song library (titles, chord sheets, lyrics, metadata)
- Setlists and song order
- Song groups (reusable templates)
- Lead sheets and attachments
- Calendar events (gigs and rehearsals)
- Practice sessions and history
Personal to You
Section titled “Personal to You”These settings are private to each member:
- Transpose values per song
- Which chart version and lead sheet part you follow
- MIDI device configuration and program assignments
- Theme preference and Singer View
- Hide lyrics / hide chords preferences
- Font size preference
Multiple Bands
Section titled “Multiple Bands”Users can belong to multiple bands. Each band has its own separate song library, setlists, and calendar. Switch between bands from the settings menu — your active band determines which data you see.
Your personal settings (MIDI devices, theme, preferences) carry across all your bands.
Band Roles
Section titled “Band Roles”Every band member has a role that determines what they can do. Owners and managers can change roles from Settings > Band.
The band founder. Full control over everything:
- All editing permissions (songs, setlists, calendar, mailbox, rider pack, multitrack)
- Manage members (invite, remove, change roles)
- Band settings and billing
- Transfer ownership to another member
There is exactly one owner per band.
Manager
Section titled “Manager”Band manager or booking agent. Same editing access as owner, without band settings or billing:
- Edit songs, setlists, calendar, mailbox, rider pack, multitrack, practice
- Manage members (invite, remove, change roles — except the owner)
Member
Section titled “Member”Core musician. Full creative access, no admin:
- Edit songs, setlists, calendar, multitrack, practice
- View rider pack and member list
- No access to mailbox, band settings, or billing
Dep or session musician. View-only, scoped to the gigs they play:
- See only the calendar events they are on the line-up for—add them with Add Guest to Lineup on the event
- See only the setlists linked to those events, and the songs on them—charts, lead sheets, backing tracks and stems included
- Hear each song’s reference takes—including clips promoted from earlier gigs’ board mixes—from the perform view: Reference Takes in the media menu, the ♪ Ref chip on wide screens, or ♪ in the Singer View header
- No song groups or library insights; the rest of the library stays hidden
- Read the band’s charts, notes and song details without changing them—＋ New Version in the song editor starts a chart version of their own, and ＋ Add Part a lead sheet of their own, which they can edit, rename and delete
- Follow any chart version, set a personal transpose and pick a lead sheet part
- Practise on their own: a session of their own on their device, separate from the band’s practice session, with Mark as Practiced for the songs of their gigs
- View rider pack and member list
- No access to mailbox, band settings, or billing
Sound engineer, lighting tech, or roadie. Focused on production:
- Edit rider pack (stageplan, patchlist, tech rider) and multitrack
- View songs, setlists, calendar, member list—and keep chart versions of their own, like a guest
- No access to mailbox, practice, band settings, or billing

Inviting Members
Section titled “Inviting Members”Only owners and managers can invite new members.
By Email
Section titled “By Email”- Go to Settings > Band
- Enter one or more email addresses
- Choose a role for the invitee (Manager, Member, Guest, or Tech)
- Send — they receive an email invitation with a link to join
By Invite Code
Section titled “By Invite Code”- Go to Settings > Band
- Copy the invite link
- Share it with your bandmate
- They enter the code during signup or from their settings
Members who join via invite code are assigned the Member role by default. Owners and managers can change their role after they join.
Chart Versions
Section titled “Chart Versions”A member who wants a different chart — an acoustic arrangement, a simplified part — doesn’t overwrite the band’s. Any member can add a named chart version next to the Band chart; everyone picks the version they follow, and members following the same version co-edit it live. See Chart Versions.
Leaving a Band
Section titled “Leaving a Band”Members can leave a band at any time from Settings. The band owner cannot leave — they must transfer ownership first.
When a member leaves:
- Their personal settings are removed
- Shared content they created remains with the band
- They can join another band or create their own
